Have you ever been interested in what goes into making a film sound the way it does? This 90 minute workshop with Emmy-winning Foley artist Leslie Bloome ( Cartel Land, Manchester By the Sea, Still Alice, The Place Beyond the Pines and many more), will include a live demonstration on how a film sounds before and after Foley is added. Q and A to follow.

Women in Media: Multi-talented and Multitasking
Join our panel with four powerful women as they discuss the importance of how having a diverse skillset leads to success in today’s media industries. Q and A to follow.

Carol Bash is the Founder and President of Paradox Films, a media production company based in Peekskill, NY. Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band, a feature documentary on this renowned yet unsung jazz genius, was the company’s premier project. The film screened at international and domestic film festivals, where it garnered multiple awards and was nationally broadcast on PBS in 2015. Most recently, she worked as Archival Producer for Firelight Films on Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities, which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and on PBS’ Independent Lens series in February 2018.
STACEY LARKINS is a narrative filmmaker and musician residing in the NYC metropolitan area. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College, and a Masters in Music from New York University. She has written, directed, composed music and edited films that have played in numerous film festivals throughout the country.
SOL MIRANDA is an AEA, SAG and AFTRA member whose work has been seen at the New York City Opera, Off-Broadway, and in regional theaters in the USA, Europe and Puerto Rico. Sol is a regular cast member in the Emmy-nominated series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and has a recurring role in the upcoming new HULU series The First starring Sean Penn and created by Beau Willimon. Currently, Sol is starring in the indie film Dream Years by Dan Poliner to hit the festival circuit in 2019. She is also the co-founder of EMBARK, one of Peekskill’s leading performing arts organizations.
NATASHA RIVERA is a native NYC writer and filmmaker. Currently, she’s an Assistant Director for the DGA working on the Amazon Emmy-nominated series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She’s worked on indie darlings such as Other People and Patti Cake$, for which she was nominated for a DGA team award for Best Direction. She co-created the production company, Boiling River Productions with her husband Seamus Boyle, which is currently in development stages for a superhero TV series and magical realist coming of age drama.
